How to measure a window for drapery

WIDTH

Measure points C to D, Determine if you want your drapery to hang inside the window frame or outside of the frame. If you are going to be hanging outside the frame then you need to add 8'' to your finished width.

LENGTH
Measure from points A to B. If you do not want your finished length to go to the floor then measure point A to wherever you want your desired finished length to be.

If you would like your curtains to pool on the floor then add to your finished length measurement however many inches you would like. There is no standard for this. However we recommend for a small amount of pooling add 2" for a large amount of pooling add at least 6" and up.

How to measure a window for shades

WIDTH
To determine the width of your window, you must first decide if you want an inside mounted or an outside mounted shade.

For an Inside Frame mounted shade, you must measure points A - B in three places: top , middle and bottom .Whichever is the smallest measurement of the three will be your finished width measurement.

For an Outside Frame mounted shade, you must measure points C - D. It is recommended when choosing an outside mounted shade to add a min of 4'' to your measurement.

LENGTH
To measure for length on an inside mounted shade measure from points E to F.
To measure for length on an outside mounted shade measure points G to H.
